The 580N EP backhoe loader uses less horsepower while maintaining the same backhoe lift capacity and breakout force than the 580N backhoe according to the manufacturer. This is designed to allow for greater fuel efficiency and to meet Tier 4 emission standards. The 580N EP features a particulate matter catalyst – a combination of a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) and a high-efficiency flow-through filter that requires no fluids and is designed to not require diesel particulate filter (DPF) maintenance.
