A Pennsylvania man came up with a creative way to impress his date – by taking her for a ride in a fire truck.

Problem is, the man is not a fireman. He’s just some guy that snuck into the Bridgewater Volunteer Fire Department.

The Beaver County Times reports fire officials saw Randy Allen Davidson, 47, enter the department around midnight May 26. Davidson grabbed the vehicle’s keys and zoomed off with a woman in the passenger seat.

Police say Davidson returned the truck and the keys to their original positions about half an hour later, according to the Associated Press. Davidson, a Bridgewater, Pa., resident, was charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle, burglary and several other crimes. He remains in jail.

There’s no word yet on what Davidson and his companion did on their 30-minute joy ride, but we have a feeling this will be their last date.
