The 2019 Crown Communities Awards
Each year, American City & County presents its Crown Communities Awards to local governments that have executed the most innovative and impactful projects over the past 18 months. With cities and counties implementing a multi-faceted connected city network and app, debuting an on-demand rideshare transit service and hosting a branded series of public meetings with high levels of engagement, 2019 was an outstanding year for Crown Communities.
This year, the following communities won American City & County‘s Crown Communities awards:
- Orange County, Fla.
- Phoenix, Ariz.
- Marietta, Ga.
- West Sacramento, Calif.
- Ottawa, Kan.
- Ormond Beach, Fla.
Thanks for this attention for our little town of Ottawa. Ks. (Compared to the other awardees). I served as mayor when this was launched in early 2018. Of course we had a few set backs along the way like most projects of this magnitude. But the persistence of the people in the public/private partnership made this happen. We have two State rail trails that intersect at this location. It was a geographical blessing just begging to be promoted. Many people and businesses are to be thanked for this project. Thanks for your recognizing it and promoting it too. We love American City and County!
