For the past two years, the Victoria, Texas, Environmental Services Department has organized Household Waste Collection Days to keep obsolete computers, printers and other electronics, along with chemicals and other hazardous materials, out of the landfill. O.C. Garza, public information officer for the city, took this photo at this year's event on April 22. E-waste accounted for more than 29,000 pounds of computers, printers, mainframes and keyboards. The city also collected 626 computer monitors and TVs for recycling.
