Tampa Bay Water announced this week that the Tampa Bay Seawater Desalination Plant is now fully operational. At 25 million gallons per day, the plant provides about 10 percent of the Tampa Bay region’s drinking water supply from the sea. The facility is operated by Voorhees, N.J.-based American Water and Madrid, Spain-based Acciona Agua through their joint venture subsidiary, American Water-Pridesa.
