There goes Peter Cottontail
This year, the April celebration of gift-giving bunnies and painted eggs has been stripped from the St. Paul, Minn., City Hall. According to The Associated Press (AP), the city’s human rights director requested that a toy rabbit, eggs and a “Happy Easter” sign be removed from City Hall, fearing that the images would offend non-Christians. The decorations adorned the lobby of the city council offices. Not all city officials were pleased with the decision, including councilmember Dave Thune who “wonders why they can’t celebrate spring with ‘bunnies and fake grass.’”
Don’t make him angry
Lou Ferrigno, former star of the 1970s television series “The Incredible Hulk,” is now a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reserve deputy. According to AP, Ferrigno — most notably known for playing the angry, green beast — began training for his new job last September, receiving instruction in firearms, first aid and high-speed driving. Ferrigno will help recruit new deputies and work with organizations that benefit children. “My father was a police officer for the New York Police Department,” Ferrigno told the AP. “I’ve always had a high respect for officers.”
