Five Compton, Calif., officials were arrested Monday on charges of misusing public funds. According to the Los Angeles Times, investigators found that the five officials used city credit cards to charge personal expenses, including food, travel and an emergency trip to the dentist. If convicted, the five could be barred from elective office in the state and would be subject to a maximum of four years in prison, according to the newspaper.
