In two zoning cases that came before the Forsyth County, Ga., Board of Commissioners on Monday, trees and sidewalks became hot issues. Some commissioners said that it was unfair for city-county planners to make developers include those two items in projects when they are not required under the county’s Unified Development Ordinances. But planners say that trees and sidewalks are often recommended to improve safety and provide a place for people to walk.
