Atlantic Beach says no to high-rise condominiums

A packed city hall in Atlantic Beach, Fla., protested a developer’s plan to build a 69-foot, high-rise condominium complex on the beach. In answer to the protest, city commissioners unanimously approved setting a height limit of 35-feet on the beach, not wanting to change the character of their island.
