On the technology front, the federal Department of Homeland Security will have equipment displays at the 2010 GSA Expo. In addition, the Brunswick, Ga.-based Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) will showcase products that demonstrate how technology is being used through simulation to enhance and improve law enforcement training for federal, state, local and tribal government agency personnel.
Demonstrations will include a marine simulator that Customs and Border Protection and U.S. Coast Guard agents use for maritime training, and two interactive simulators that incorporate computer-generated avatars and speech recognition software. The first system allows officers and agents to conduct simulated interviews. The second provides a variety of scenarios for training students in appropriate use of force options over a broad range of law enforcement training objectives.
In the photo on the right is one of FLETC’s interactive simulators that is used for law enforcement training. It will be on display at the 2010 GSA Expo.
The exhibit floor covers 300,000 square feet and showcases the commercial product and service offerings available from 750 GSA-contracted vendors exhibiting at GSA Expo 2010. Exhibits open Wednesday morning, May 5. All of the exhibitors have products available under GSA Multiple Award Schedule contracts.
Exhibitors that are displaying environmentally friendly products are designated in the program guide. Vendors have self-certified that any of their organization’s products on display qualify under guidelines in Executive Order 13423.
