Gallery: 10 of America’s most affordable cities
Over the last few years, inflation has made American cities less affordable by driving up everything from groceries to rent and utilities. And while the cost of living has generally increased nationwide, some communities are more affordable to live in than others.
A new analysis from GOBankingRates ranks 10 of the most affordable U.S. cities. The list was created by combining data on the 200 largest housing markets from Zillow with the latest Metro Statistical Area unemployment rate from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. It also takes into account labor force participation data and livability from the American Community Survey, and AreaVibes. The 10 cities that made the list have home values lower than the U.S. national average, and strong labor markets.
