IPAWS Emergency Notification Helps Bring Home Missing Family Member
When a 77-year old dementia patient went missing in Blount Tennessee, the County’s Emergency Management Department did everything possible to safely locate the man and return him home. Their efforts were successful in part because of an alert they distributed through FEMA’s Integrated Public Alert Warning System (IPAWS) and the thoughtful vigilance of a neighbor who received the alert message.
