Making sustainable choices can help to save the plant. Some cities are working to promote a more eco-friendly lifestyle.
LawnStarter recently ranked the Most Sustainable Cities by comparing the 200 largest U.S. cities across 24 key sustainability indicators including number of incentives and policies supporting renewables and energy efficiency; number of zero-energy buildings; share of green commuters; and prevalence of community-suppported agriculture. The cities were ranked from most to least sustainable based on their overall scores, averaged across a list of weighted metrics that included policy, infrastructure, pollution, transportation and food production. The city with the highest overall score (out of a possible 100 points) was ranked No. 1. Is it your city on the list?
