Trick or treat! With Halloween just around the corner, people across the country have begun decorating their houses, stocking up on candy and hunting for the best costumes. Nevertheless, some cities will prove to be better haunts than others.
Financial information site Wallethub compared the 100 largest American cities using 20 metrics to determine the best cities in which to celebrate Halloween. This list was determined based on how each city ranked in terms of its trick-or-treater friendliness, Halloween fun and Halloween weather — rankings that Wallethub created using multiple public and private sources, listed below.
We’ve included the top 20 here, along with those cities’ trick-or-treater friendliness, Halloween fun and Halloween weather rankings (all are out of 100). Is your city on the list?
Wallethub obtained the data used in these rankings from the U.S. Census Bureau, Federal Bureau of Investigation, U.S. Department of Transportation – National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Council for Community and Economic Research, AccuWeather, Walk Score, Yelp, Google and Eventbrite.
