All-season safety cab now available for Groundsmaster rotary mowers
The new climate-controlled cab is for the Groundsmaster 4010-D, 4110-D and 5910-D wide-area rotary mowers from Toro. It provides operator safety and comfort and features a low-profile roof, rollover protection system (ROPS) and a pressurized air filtration system that minimizes operator exposure to dust and debris.
The unit is equipped with air conditioning and heat. It is designed to keep operators comfortable and productive year round — regardless of the temperature or season.
The cab includes five individual air-vent controls with full 360-degree rotation, so the operator can direct air where it’s needed for comfort and increased defrost/de-mist capability. An adjustable air-balance control allows operators to select outside air, cabin air or a combination of both. Another view of the cab is below, on the left.
“We understand that productivity and operator experience are directly proportional,” says Kevin Conry, senior marketing manager at The Toro Company. “When an operator is comfortable, downtime is reduced and efficiency is maximized.” He says the features of the cab are designed to combat operator fatigue and offer an improved experience.
The product’s design offers all-round visibility. Front and rear windows open for fresh-air ventilation, and quick-release window latches on front and rear windows allow emergency exit on four sides. The right and left doors and the rear window also have 50-percent tinted glass to reduce heat and glare. A heavy-duty windshield wiper/washer helps keep the front window clear.
Other standard features include an adjustable seat with air suspension, upholstered interior panels, an interior mirror and dome light, and fold-away side mirrors.
The ROPS-certified cab complies with applicable ANSI and CE requirements. Optional accessories include a pre-filter for increased filtration of outside air in dusty applications. View a video here that showcases the cab.
