Morbark gets the nod in cooperative contract (with related video)
The National Joint Powers Alliance (NJPA) has awarded Morbark, Inc., with a four-year contract to provide NJPA members with medium-duty and compact construction and maintenance equipment. The contract (#042815-MBI), which officially began May 19, 2015, also covers related attachments, accessories and supplies.
The Staples, Minn.-based NJPA is a municipal contracting agency for government, education and non-profit agencies in the U.S. and Canada. The agency goes through a 12-step procurement process that includes identifying member needs, researching solutions, drafting and posting solicitations, evaluating proposals and awarding vendors. The agency consolidates the efforts of numerous individually prepared solicitations and contracts to one cooperative process. The agency aims to help members save time and offer access to a range of product and equipment options with competitive pricing.
Morbark’s contract with the NJPA includes equipment such as Boxer 300, 500 and 900 series mini-skid steers and attachments; the Boxer 120 dedicated trencher; and Morbark’s line of Beever brush chippers, stump grinders, horizontal and tub grinders, and whole tree chippers. The company has a network of approximately 300 North American dealer and distributor locations. It employs more than 500. The firm is based in Winn, Mich.
The cooperative contract gives Morbark and Boxer equipment dealers and distributors the opportunity to build brand awareness and sales volume throughout North America, says Wayne Watts, governmental sales specialist for Morbark.
Morbark has been manufacturing equipment for the forestry, recycling, tree care, sawmill and biomass markets for more than 50 years. The firm’s equipment helps customers harvest, process and convert wood and other organic waste materials into useful products. The company produces a line of whole tree and waste wood chippers, flails, brush chippers, horizontal and tub grinders, sawmill equipment and material handling systems.
Boxer Equipment has four model series available: the 100 series dedicated trencher and the 300, 500 and 900 series compact utility loaders. The equipment can handle more than 50 universal attachments.
