Ride DC: Multiple, real-time transit options
Washington, D.C. has created a model program to provide its customers with accurate and timely public transportation schedules. It includes information for the Metrorail and Metro and Circulator buses, and shows the availability of nearby Capital Bikeshare and Car2Go vehicles.
Register for this free webinar and hear Washington, D.C’s DDOT Chief Information Officer and their partner, Eastbanc Technologies describe how they developed an easy-to-use system relaying real-time information to their riders’ mobile devices.
Learn how D.C. created:
• The Ride DC Trip Planner app with travel information available on smartphones
• A Dashboard Portal so schools, apartment buildings and retailers can create their own transit screen
• An inexpensive system to prevent bus bunching by equipping each bus with a smartphone to provide constant access to all bus locations
• A large data feed to help improve the overall system
