Kimball Office completes showroom redesign in nation’s capital (with related video)

Kimball Office, the Jasper, Ind.-based contract office furniture manufacturer, has finished its redesign and renovation of its Washington, D.C., showroom.

Design firm Perkins+Will led the renovation and redesign of the showroom. The Kimball showroom is located at 1130 Connecticut Avenue NW, Suite 1150. The updated facility features functional private and collaborative spaces, lush and textured upholstery with pops of color, and minimal use of partitions. The arrangement allows and encourages views throughout the space while also maximizing the flexibility offered by the Kimball Office product line.

“The Kimball Office brand continues to move forward at a rapid pace,” says Mike Wagner, president, Kimball Office. “Perkins+Will, as well as our branding team, did an amazing job of balancing the latest in workplace thinking, as well as integrating new materials and fashion-forward finishes into this space—all of which come together to represent the essence of our brand values.”

LEED certification is pending for the facility. Kimball’s partnership with Perkins+Will encouraged and promoted sustainable initiatives on the project, such as the use of highly recycled content. A high percentage of the project’s construction waste was diverted from a landfill. Other LEED attributes, include:

·         100 percent of the expected annual electricity consumption, for two years, has been offset with purchased renewable energy resources.

·         When possible, materials used on the project were sourced regionally (within 500 miles).

·         Fluorescent and LED light fixtures are used exclusively throughout the space.

·         90 percent of Energy Star-qualified equipment and appliances have been installed as part of the scope of work.

Kimball Office provides architects, designers, facility managers, and employers with open plan system solutions, both modern and classic desking, and a range of conference and seating options.
