NIGP is is important in moving public procurement towards professionalism, but we cannot say we’ve achieved that goal. For example, we need to create demand at the college level so that more universities provide course work in public procurement. We need to spread the word on public procurement’s relevancy so those in city hall and state capitals understand our value and demand nothing less than a public procurement professional to manage taxpayers’ dollars.
