Nuvera Fuel Cells is partnering with the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Pacific Northwest National Laboratory to use fuel cell technology to power transport refrigeration units (TRUs) on tractor trailers used to deliver frozen foods and fresh produce to supermarkets. Using fuel cells in place of the more commonly used diesel generators will cut carbon emissions and reduce noise pollution. Thermo King, a manufacturer of transport temperature control systems, is another partner in the project.
Almost 200 complimentary educational sessions will be provided at the conference. Keynote speakers include Edward H. Bastian, president of Delta Air Lines; former Walmart CEO Lee Scott; and Scott Sopher, principal with Deloitte Consulting LLP’s supply chain practice.
