GIE+Expo combines lawn and grounds equipment, education and entertainment (with related video)
The Green Industry and Equipment Expo (GIE+EXPO) and Hardscape North America — co-located at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, Ky., will take place Oct. 23-25. The combined conferences feature a variety of outdoor power equipment, along with products for landscapes, gardens, outdoor leisure, recreation and light construction. The GIE+EXPO will draw roughly 18,000 participants, including exhibitors, dealers, retailers, manufacturers’ representatives, rental shop operators and distributors of lawn, garden and outdoor products and equipment. Government and commercial buyers will also be in attendance.
For the 2013 show, attendees will see an expanded lineup of GIE+EXPO workshops. The conference events list describes a variety of sessions of interest to contractors and lawn & landscape professionals, grounds managers and hardscape installers.
Attendees can enjoy three free concerts planned for the Nissan Commercial stage at Fourth Street Live, with performances by Craig Morgan, Three Dog Night and Holly Williams and other headliners.
CONFERENCE SCHEDULE
Oct. 23 – Dealer Day
Attendees can choose from exhibitor-hosted dealer meetings, classes and a Dealer Resource Pavilion throughout the day, followed by an evening reception for dealers, retailers, distributors and the media on the tradeshow floor.
October 24-25 – Tradeshow open to all attendees
Indoor: Thursday and Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Outdoor Demonstration Area: Thursday, 9 a.m-5 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
A lunch-and-learn education session for rental dealers is available Wednesday, Oct. 23 from 1-3 p.m. The $30 fee covers lunch and two sessions — Part 1: Effective Advertising for Rental Stores. Part 2: “You Think You Know” Game Show.
The Green Industry Conference (GIC), organized by PLANET and the Professional Grounds Management Society’s (PGMS) School of Grounds Management, offers educational sessions and peer networking.

The New Products Showcase will be a launching pad for new products. Attendees can stop here for a glimpse of the latest innovations, and then stop at the exhibits throughout the show floor to meet with the manufacturers and test the products.
