MAP-21 virtual conference to focus on highway and transit investment
The new highway and transit investment law — Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century (MAP-21) — and its many effects on state, local and county transportation officials will be the focus of the Sept. 18 opening session of LōTrans 2012. It will be held from 12:00-1:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
The American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) Transportation Officials Division is hosting the Local Transportation Asset Management Virtual Conference & Innovation Showcase, featuring “Best Practices in Work Zone Safety.” The Federal Highway Administration, National Association of County Engineers, National Work Zone Safety Information Clearinghouse, and the National Local Technical Assistance Program Association are all charter partners of the event.
ARTBA’s government relations, safety, economics and environmental team have studied the more than 600-page new law, and will offer their expert perspectives on what it means for local transportation agencies.
