The 885ix SmartBoard is built to deliver a precise and intuitive touch experience. Users can write with a pen or finger and erase with a fist. A touch of the screen can open documents, launch applications and navigate the Internet. Objects can be manipulated with gestures like zoom, rotate, pan, flick and toss. Two people can write, erase and manipulate objects simultaneously — the 885ix automatically recognizes what each user is doing and responds accordingly. For training sessions, the entire system powers up in seconds with the touch of a button, the intuitive design invites use, and the powerful features inspire creativity. Files can be accessed from a network, USB drive, or laptop. Documents can be marked up in Microsoft Office applications, like Word, Excel and PowerPoint, using digital ink and saved and distributed instantly via e-mail. Interactive whiteboard notes can be saved as PDF or PPT files that can also be sent instantly via e-mail. The entire team’s feedback and ideas can be captured and distributed.
Trainers are given the ability to draw attention to key concepts, interact with content using touch gestures and add crucial information and relevant notes. With the combination of multitouch and object awareness, it’s easy for training sessions to become collaborative experiences.
