State Department awards facilities contract
The U.S. Department of State has awarded a $14 million maintenance contract to Bowie, Md.-based Crockett Facilities Services, Inc. (CFSI). Under the five-year agreement, Crockett will provide facilities management, operations and maintenance services to two commercial buildings located in Washington. The contract is scheduled to start on Sept. 1, 2011.
In the agreement, CFSI’s scope of work will include on-site project management, equipment operations, preventive/predictive maintenance, equipment watches/tours/repairs, service calls, architectural/structural systems, building alterations and building escort services. CFSI will be responsible for the operations of the buildings’ heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, domestic water equipment systems, electrical distribution equipment, sanitary sewage, storm drainage and utilities.

As part of the competitive bid process, CFSI’s request for proposal included administrative, financial and technical components. The document contained financial data, safety records, key personnel resumes, organizational charts, operations and management plans, and past performance references.
