Associations offer service line warranties
The Washington-based National League of Cities (NLC) and Canonsburg, Pa.-based Utility Service Partners (USP) are offering the NLC Service Line Warranty Program to assist cities in protecting their residents from the high cost of broken or leaking utility lines. The warranties cover expensive repairs to external water and sewer lines on homeowners’ properties.
The NLC program, available to cities in the 48 contiguous states, will be rolled out over 18 months in six-month intervals. It also will offer 24-hour/7-day-a-week utility service line protection. “We believe that the NLC Service Line Warranty Program provides a unique service to cities and their residents, combining an efficient solution for homeowners while providing a source of additional income for cities,” NLC Executive Director Donald Borut said in a statement.
Cities interested in participating in the NLC Service Line Warranty Program should contact Brad Carmichael, vice president of business development at Utility Service Partners, [email protected] or (866) 974-4801.
