Fighting fire got personal for the St. Cloud, Minn., Fire Department in October when flames engulfed one of the department’s own fire stations. There was one casualty: one of the department’s fire trucks.
The blaze broke out at Station 3 sometime before 6 a.m. on Oct. 29, destroying one fire truck and causing some smoke damage to the building, according to local television news station WJON. Indeed, it appears that the fire broke out in one of the trucks inside the garage bay. Fire officials say the station could be out of commission for a while, but, because the station’s fire alarms sounded, all of the firefighters inside the building escaped unharmed.
