The SkyBitz GLS400 mobile terminal provides a lower-cost tracking solution than GPS-based devices through increased power use efficiency, reliability and ruggedness. The unit, which relies on global locating system technology, helps optimize operations with fleets, heavy equipment or remote assets. Powered by eight AA batteries to minimize maintenance requirements, the terminal is made of Lexan polycarbonate to withstand harsh environments. All positioning calculations are centralized to limit power consumption. Positions can be calculated quickly and efficiently, with limited drain on the batteries in the unit.
