Tire vendor hikes prices
Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions (BBTS), a division of Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations, has increased prices on its Firestone, Dayton and Bandag brand products up to 6 percent. BBTS is based in Muscatine, Iowa.
The company boosted its retread material prices on Bandag products up to 6 percent in the United States. The price hike took effect May 1.
Effective June 1, 2010, the Firestone brand, as well as Dayton brand, truck and bus radial tire base prices will increase up to 6 percent in the United States.
“Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions continues to look for ways to balance costs and continue to deliver a premium package of value to our dealer and fleet customers. Today, however, we have reached a point where we must increase prices due to the unrelenting escalation of costs outside of our control for energy, fuel and raw materials,” said Kurt Danielson, vice president of sales and marketing at BBTS.
BBTS manufactures and sells medium and heavy-duty truck tires for the original equipment and replacement markets in the United States and in Canada through Bridgestone Canada Inc.
Bridgestone, Firestone and Dayton brand truck tires are available through more than 2,500 dealers and truck stops across the U.S. and Canada. The company’s Bandag brand offers application-specific retreads, retread products and retreading services through Bandag dealers.
