County launches anti-bullying Web site
Residents of Hillsborough County, Fla., who are concerned that their child is being bullied or is bullying other children can visit a new county Web site for help. The Bully Busters Web site contains sections for adults and teens with information on the effects of bullying, where to report bullying, what can be done to stop bullying, and links to other resources.
One section of the Bully Buster site is devoted to cyberbullying, or online harassment. Adult and youth anti-bullying pledges are available on the site along with information on the county’s new anti-bullying advisory committee.
Bully Busters is a joint effort with the county, the county’s Criminal Justice Liaison, Children’s Services, the Sheriff’s Office, and Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay. The program includes public awareness, education and intervention, and community support.
