The Fairfax, Va.-based International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) is inviting its members to participate in a federal mutual aid program that will allow them to assist in disaster relief efforts anywhere in the nation. Through the “Go Team” program, a two-person team of chief officers deploy regionally to support mutual aid and incident command in large-scale incidents.
Go Team candidates must be able to fill almost any role within the Incident Command System, according to IAFC. Applications are due on Jan. 14. While Go Team partners will be assigned to each of the 10 Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Regions, IAFC particularly needs applicants from Regions I, II, III, VI, VII and VIII.
Apply for the Go Team program.
