California city launches ‘green’ Web site
Santa Clarita, Calif., residents and business owners with questions about environmental conservation now can turn to a city-run Web site, www.GreenSantaClarita.com. The site offers a calendar of “green” events, frequently updated information about the city’s continuing environmental efforts, and general information about water conservation, energy efficiency, recycling and climate change.
The site also includes instructions for household hazardous waste and e-waste disposal and bulky items pickups, as well as eco-friendly tips for local families. “Environmental protection and awareness has remained a top priority for Santa Clarita since it attained cityhood more than 20 years ago,” Mayor Frank Ferry said in a statement. “GreenSantaClarita.com provides a one-stop-shop for community members, builders and local businesses seeking comprehensive information on the City of Santa Clarita’s numerous ‘green’ efforts.”
Local businesses can search the site for green business tips, information on the city’s Recycling Market Development Zone, answers to questions about commercial waste services and more. Local builders can learn about sustainable development programs, environmental legislation, green municipal services and green building programs.
The site will be updated and expanded as new information is available.
