Conference to focus on waterfront redevelopment
Bremerton, Wash., will host its first Urban Waterfront Revitalization Conference from Sept. 10-12 at the Kitsap Conference Center. Officials from several cities in the United States and Canada will give presentations on topics including financing, transportation planning and waterfront promotion.
The Kirkland, Wash.-based Athena Institute, a sustainability research consultancy, is producing the conference. “What sets this conference apart is its strong marriage of economics, innovation and sustainability,” Athena Institute President and CEO P.S. Reilly said in a statement. “The event features in-depth profiles of leading communities in the process of revitalizing their waterfronts, and the information and networking will be a tremendous resource,” Reilly said.
Early registration is $250 for government, academic and non-profit representatives and $350 for private sector representatives. More information on registering for the conference is available at www.ci.bremerton.wa.us.
