2008 Congress of Cities to address change in federal leadership
A new president will be elected one week before the Washington-based National League of Cities’ (NLC) 2008 Congress of Cities is held, so the country’s new chief executive will be the focus of the NLC event. Congress attendees will explore ways the new administration will affect their communities.
The Congress of Cities, scheduled for Nov. 11-15 in Orlando, Fla., offers local government officials and employees a chance to share and gain knowledge from their peers, says NLC President and Madison, Ala., Councilwoman Cynthia McCollum. “[At the congress,] cities can find out how to turn upcoming national changes to their advantage, learn and share solutions to issues that matter to their community, and access the first-hand knowledge of 4,000 peers,” McCollum said in a statement.
Early bird registration for the congress is now available for the discount rates of $395 for NLC members and $550 for non-members. Register at http://reg.jspargo.com/coc08/.
