To Kill Germs, Let Hydrogen Peroxide Vapor Fill the Air
Wheel in Vaprox Hydrogen Peroxide (VHP) generator to sterilize interior enclosures ranging from rooms to vehicles. Kills a variety of infectious and biological threats, including pathogens linked to SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome), the avian flu, and staph infections. Applications include emergency response vehicles, mass transit, offices, schools, and recreational facilities. By turning on the VHP generator at the site, a dry vapor of hydrogen peroxide permeates the area, including nooks and crannies that can harbor germs. Air is then blown into the air to expel the vapor. VHP solution reduces to water vapor and oxygen at the end of the sterilization cycle, which is controlled by generator’s onboard computer. Won’t leave harmful residue on surfaces. The technology recently received clearance from the EPA for expanded use at sites. Previous VHP projects range from removing anthrax threats at a mail processing center to sterilizing hospital equipment after Hurricane Katrina. STERIS Corp., Mentor, OH
