A well-funded campaign led to victory for a Miami-Dade County commissioner in a recall vote brought about by citizen activists. The Citizens for Positive Change wanted to oust Commissioner Natacha Seijas because they didn’t like the way she treated the public and because she supported extending Miami’s Urban Development Boundary, according to The Miami Herald. Seijas supporters, mostly developers, lobbyists and lawyers, raised $400,000 for her campaign against the recall, while her opponents raised less than $50,000. Seijas won 65 percent of the vote.
