Boston health officials are considering a ban on trans fats in restaurant meals similar to a recently enacted ban in New York. Members of the Boston Public Health Commission teleconferenced with health authorities from New York on Tuesday to discuss how such a ban could be implemented and enforced, according to The Boston Globe. Trans fats have been linked to heart disease, and earlier this month New York became the first major city to ban the substance that is frequently used in commercial food products.
