A farm family in Forest Grove, Ore., is taking the city to court over its condemnation of 140 acres that the farmers recently purchased. The Haworth family thinks the city should pay more than the $1.9 million it is offering for the land because developing it for recreational use, as planned, would increase its value, according to the Capital Press. Also, the family says the city might plan to sell the land for private development, but city officials say they’ve always wanted to use it for recreational facilities.
