Illinois’ governor and his challenger are expressing two different views on last week’s indictment of one of the governor’s biggest financial supporters. Gov. Rod Blagojevich says the indictment of his friend, Antoin Rezko, has nothing to do with him and won’t affect his campaign, according to the Chicago Tribune. Blagojevich’s challenger, Republican Judy Baar Topinka, says the governor should be worried about Rezko’s indictment and the upcoming plea agreement by Rezko’s co-defendant, Stuart Levine. Also, Rezko failed to appear for his arraignment on Friday, but a new arraignment is scheduled for this week.
