Hoping to avoid a repeat of a 2004 incident involving a phony flu shot clinic, the Minnesota Department of Health has launched a program to certify such clinics that are held in grocery stores and other public places. The “Mark of Excellence” program provides posters and buttons to clinics that pass the voluntary inspection, according to the Minneapolis-St. Paul Star Tribune. The health department invited 20 private agencies to participate in the program, and eight have been certified so far.
