The stray pets at Los Angeles’ North Central Animal Care Center may not want to leave now that the facility has been renovated to cater to their needs. The $10.1 million in work on the shelter includes the addition of 45,000 square feet of outdoor space, climate-controlled kennels and more, according to the Los Angeles Times. City officials hope the new layout improves the health of the animals staying there, increases the comfort of humans who come looking to adopt a pet, and will move the city closer to its goal of eliminating euthanasia of un-adopted animals.
