A jeweler in Anoka, Minn., is urging the city to develop a “smaller Main Street” to slow people to a stop in the city’s downtown area. Frank Gould plans to build a 6,555-square-foot jewelry store on Main Street, and he told the town council it should allow him to put the store almost in the right of way, according to the Anoka County Union. The point, Gould said, is to encourage people to stop and shop in the retail area. http://www.abcnewspapers.com/2006/May/18gould.html
