Municipal employees in New York say the city is fighting them on workers’ compensation claims resulting from the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Mayor Michael Bloomberg has intervened in one case involving a former deputy mayor, bringing attention to the situation, according to The New York Times. While the city has settled about 90 percent of more than 1,400 complaints filed so far, city officials question the timeliness of some complaints and their link to the 9/11 attacks. http://www.nytimes.com/2006/05/22/nyregion/22wtc.html
