A lawsuit between Michigan residents and a water bottling company over who owns the rights to the state’s groundwater could be decided as early as next month. According to the Detroit Free Press, last year a judge ruled that Nestle Waters had to stop pumping water from shallow wells near Big Rapids because of harm to local streams and wetlands.
