In Boston, the battle continues between Mayor Tom Menino and the city’s Police Patrolmen’s Union. Despite the arbitration decision Thursday afternoon, there may be a new contract, but the union is not happy and has vowed to picket everywhere during the Democratic National Convention. The agreement gives the union a 14.5 percent raise over four years, roughly midway between what the union wanted and what the city offered. By law, the arbitrator’s decision is binding, but the union said it will picket anyway and some delegates said they would honor those lines. http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=383&ncid=383&e=2&u=/kmgh/20040723/lo_WCVB/2299277
