Ericka Davis, a forensic photographer for the Harris County, Texas, Medical Examiner's Office, took this photo of the Washington Monument in March. Davis visited D.C. to take a photography course at the FBI academy and found some time to take a "pretty" picture -- a far cry from her typical routine.

The top photo was originally posted as the weekly snapshot winner for April 20, and in the following weeks a few keen readers noticed some discrepancies in the monument's reflection. Upon review, Davis found that a stray brush stroke somehow made it into the photo and sent in the original, unblemished version (below).
