The longest kiss

This week’s winner is Stephen Ambers, safety officer for the Fort Myers, Fla., Legal/Risk Management Department. His photo depicts “Unconditional Surrender,” a 26-foot-tall statue replicating the famous image of a sailor kissing a nurse in Times Square following President Truman’s announcement in August 1945 that the Japanese had surrendered. The statue by Seward Johnson — made of painted molded foam — is part of a Sarasota sculpture exhibit in Bayfront Park that includes 26 other works.
