Coke, recycling coalition to provide grants for recycling bins
The Washington-based National Recycling Coalition and Atlanta-based Coca-Cola are offering grants to pay for the purchase of recycling bins. Oct. 26 is the deadline to apply for the grants.
City and county governments, along with non-profit and for-profit companies, must propose a method to use the bins as part of a sustainable recycling program to qualify for the grants. Grant activities can include recycling programs at schools and universities, parks, cultural events or businesses.
For more information, go to the Environmental Protection Agency’s Recycle on the Go Web site, www.epa.gov/recycleonthego. Grant recipients will be announced on America Recycles Day, Nov. 15.
