Last month, Nags Head, N.C., dismantled a landmark water tank and broadcast the process on its Web site. The 300,000-gallon elevated water storage tank was the town's first, built in 1963 at the municipal complex for approximately $52,000 to replace private wells. Since the town's new 500,000-gallon tank went online in April 2006, the 44-year old tank was no longer needed, so Romeo, Mich.-based Iseler Demolition was called in to remove it.
