The Hilltown, Pa., Water and Sewer Authority has purchased an arsenic removal system from Fort Washington, Pa.-based Severn Trent Services that also includes a pre-treatment system to remove iron and manganese. Additionally, Pasadena, Texas, has extended its contract with the company to provide wastewater treatment services for six years.

The Atlanta-Fulton County Water Resources Commission has extended its contract with Houston-based Veolia Water North America and Atlanta-based Khafra Engineering Consultants to manage the 90 million-gallon-per-day (mgd) water treatment system in Alpharetta, Ga., for five years. Additionally, Burley, Idaho, has contracted with Veolia Water to provide wastewater services for 10 years. Under the $5.6 million contract, the company will manage the city's 2.3 mgd industrial wastewater treatment plant and its 2 mgd municipal wastewater treatment facility when it comes online in October 2006.

Lancaster, S.C., has contracted with Milwaukee-based Johnson Controls to upgrade 6,000 water meters, install an automated meter reading system, and upgrade lighting and heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment in public buildings.
