Oshkosh unveils mammography exam vehicle
Oshkosh Specialty Vehicles (OSV) recently unveiled a new mobile digital mammography examination suite at the third annual Gundersen Lutheran Medical Foundation Steppin’ Out In Pink walk for breast cancer research and awareness.
The 40-foot examination vehicle will travel across Gundersen Lutheran Health System’s service area in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa to provide women with state-of-the-art digital mammography examinations. The health system is headquartered in La Crosse, Wis.
The vehicle incorporates a walk-through modular body built on a Freightliner M2-106 chassis. A GE Senographe Essential digital mammography system is part of the examination suite.
“Our primary objective is to build quality, mobile diagnostic and treatment vehicles that enable the medical community to more effectively reach out to people in need,” said John Slawson, OSV president. “This digital mammography examination suite, which plays a critical role in early breast cancer detection, is a tremendous example of our company’s products in action.”
OSV, which is based in Harvey, Ill., manufactures, repairs, refurbishes and upgrades specialty trailers, trucks and vans for a variety of medical applications.
